Many hotels across the UK and in other countries feature solid wood flooring.Indeed, oak flooring and other such provisions have been popular for a long time and there is now a vast range for owners to choose from when they come to make alterations to their premises.
One man who decided to make use of solid wood flooring recently was Sam Cross, general manager of the White Hart Hotel in Okehampton. Following discussions with the chief executive Kevin Moore, it was decided that customers felt the old bar area was looking a bit tired and was therefore in need of a revamp, Tindle Newspapers reports.
According to the news source, the west Devon-based hotel has been owned by the Watts family for 16 years and over this time, it has been through a number of improvements. The most recent involved the transformation of the Henry Holland bar.
Mr Moore stated: “At a time when the many people are cutting back on investing in their business because of the recession, I believe it’s important that we show the residents of Okehampton that we are confident to invest in our business, especially after the national publicity regarding the local job losses.”
He added that the bar, complete with its new flooring, has been renamed HB’s and it has a modern wine bar atmosphere. Among the other changes was the addition of a new bar with a granite worktop and an oak display area, as well as new seating. Meanwhile, a different menu has also been launched. Led by head chef Lewis Mill, the food will be based on locally sourced ingredients.
Businesses keen to engage in refits, potentially including the installation of oak flooring, can often save money by seeking offers on the products they need online. Indeed, the web is now many people’s first choice for such shopping.
