Manufacturers generally recommend hand washing, particularly where there is delicate lace involved, and this will decrease the chance of bobbling and plucking. It will also prevent the underwire coming out and getting tangled in the workings of your washing machine! Consequently, if you do decide to use the machine to wash your underwear, always use a washing machine bag. Hand washing is also especially recommended for t-shirt or moulded bras, to make sure the padding retains its shape and doesn’t get any unsightly indentations. Likewise, store these bras carefully for the same reason.
