You Don’t Have to Eat Your Carrots

If you eat your crusts you would grow up strong and have curly hair. Or so we were told. Very few children would question this, and would often not even consider whether or not a tight perm would really be beneficial to them or not. Then of course, there were the carrots. If you eat them, you would be able to see in the dark. 

Whilst the first of these stories may have been just a case of parents pushing their luck, the carrots ability to aid our sight is no myth. Carotene rich foods such as carrots can help the eyes in all manner of ways. However, there are plenty of other ways to see in the dark, and it may take a great deal of carrots and possibly a vitamin A deficiency for the effects of carrots to be particularly noticeable.
